Forney, North Forney girls basketball receive All-District honors
FORNEY, Texas – Several Forney High School and North Forney High School girls basketball players were named by area District 10-4A coaches to the 1st, 2nd, and Academic All-District teams.

In route to their 7-7 district season, 10-13 overall, the North Forney girls basketball team advanced to the first round of playoffs with a play-in game victory over Mesquite Poteet and a bi-district matchup loss against District 9-4A champions Frisco Liberty. In so doing, two members of the squad were named 1st Team All-District – Bre Powell and Alex Webb.

North Forney's Alandria Morris, Emily Willey, and Forney's Skyler Vadnais were named 2nd Team All-District. Honorable mentions include Forney's Nikki Williams, Jordan Raglin, Analyn Gabler, Bri Maddox, and North Forney's Nicky Okehi.

Forney High School had the largest showing in District 10-4A on the Academic All-District Team which includes Skyler Vadnais, Nikki Williams, Jordan Raglin, Bri Maddox, Analyn Gabler, Bailey Hamsher, Sarah Gordon, Sabrynna Cox, Kaylynne Kennedy, Kassi Courtney, Carlie Jones, Madeliene Davis, Ali Crowley. North Forney's Nicky Okehi was also named Academic All-District.

District 10-4A co-MVPs came out of West Mesquite and Carrollton Newman Smith – Alexus Bertrand and Alexis Nezianya, respectively.

District 10-4A Offensive Player of the Year went to Mesquite Poteet's Savanah Doty and the Defensive Player of the Year went to Carrollton Newman Smith's Dasia Johnson. The Newcomer of the Year went to Carrollton Creekview's Carissa Moody.

District 10-4A Coach of the Year went to Tabitha Wesley from West Mesquite High School.
