FORNEY, Texas – Soulman's Bar-B-Que, which began with humble beginnings in 1974 in Pleasant Grove, Texas, is announcing its newest location in Forney.

According to Soulman's Bar-B-Que Chief Executive Officer and Partner Brett Randle, a real estate contract was closed last week on what most Forney residents know as the former Grandma's Fried Chicken building at 590 Pinson Road across from Brookshire's grocery store and Settlers gas station.
Soulman's is expecting an opening in about eight weeks after remodeling the old building. “We have had our eye on Forney for a long time and that particular building for around seven years,” said Randle. “We feel Forney is a perfectly suited for Soulman's.”
The Forney location will be the 13th restaurant location for Soulman's Bar-B-Que which is celebrating 40 years in business this year. Randle said they have a “lot of cool stuff planned for this year” to celebrate their anniversary.
Soulman's plans to hire 15 to 20 new employees.
