FORNEY, Texas – The last cone blocking the two new lanes of Pinson Road was removed a short time ago and drivers are already celebrating the end of a much-needed construction project.

The project began just a little over a year ago to expand the two lane asphalt road to four concrete lanes with curbs, underground drainage, and sidewalks. The improvements began at the Pinson Road bridge and continued to Pinson Road's intersection with Ranch Road, Ridgecrest Road, and Farm-to-Market (FM) 740.
Earlier today, construction crews diverted the lanes of travel to the two center lanes to finalize the road striping on the southbound lanes.
According to Assistant City Manager Gina Nash, the intersection of Pinson Road and the service road loop will require a couple more weeks to complete. The city anticipates a completion date in the first half of May for the intersection.
The finalization of the Pinson Road project will mark the end of road projects from the 2006 voter-approved bond package which also included the intersection of FM 548 and US Highway 80, and FM 741. The projects were approved as Texas Department of Transportation Pass-Through funding projects and the city will receive reimbursements from the state over time.
