CRANDALL, Texas – Five patients were transported to area hospitals following a violent head-on collision on Farm-to-Market (FM) 741 this morning, May 9, 2014, according to Crandall Fire Department Chief Allen Cousins.

At approximately 6:45 a.m., emergency responders were dispatched to the head-on accident on FM 741 near Thelma Lane – approximately half-a-mile from the Heartland neighborhood. Two of the five patients transported were listed in critical condition.
A small green pickup truck and a red Volkswagen sedan were involved in the accident. The cause of the accident is still under investigation by the Texas Department of Public Safety. The current condition of the patients and their names are unknown.
