First responders immediately requested CareFlight air transport for the patient which was later disregarded per a responding East Texas Medical Center ambulance. The patient was transported to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas, and was described as being in “serious condition,” according to Forney Fire Department Chief Rick Townsend.
The traffic backed up into Dallas County and also caused a secondary minor fender-bender accident on the south service road. Traffic was redirected onto FM 460 while the highway was closed.
