BULLARD, Texas – The North Forney High School softball team fell to Hallsville High School in game 1 of their best-of-three series matchup for the UIL Class 4A Regional Quarterfinals.

On Thursday night, both teams traveled to Brook Hill Private School in Bullard, Texas, which is south of Tyler, Texas, for the 7 p.m. matchup. Game 2 will also be played in Bullard on Friday, May 16, 2014, at 7 p.m. with a game 3 on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 1 p.m., if needed.
Both teams remained scoreless in the first five innings with Hallsville first to score in the top of the 6th inning. Hallsville scored 4 runs in the 6th and kept North Forney at 0. Hallsville opened up the 7th inning with a Mcelroy line-drive double to left field. Hallsville's Rawls then hit a fly ball home run down centerfield to bring Hallsville up 6-0 over North Forney.
North Forney's most eventful inning came at the bottom of the 7th which quickly came to an end with their 5th at-bat of the inning.
