FORNEY, Texas – CareFlite was requested to the scene of a head-on collision on the south service road today after two vehicles collided at the eastbound U.S. Highway 80 onramp at Farm-to-Market (FM) 460.

At approximately 1:09 p.m. on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, the Forney Police Department and the Forney Fire Department responded to the accident. The south service road was closed from the FM 460 onramp to the Broad Street exit during the accident.
Both vehicles, a tan colored van traveling eastbound and a maroon passenger car traveling westbound, appeared to collide right at the merger point for the highway onramp on the service road and sustained major front-end damage to their vehicles. The van was registered out of Georgia.
One patient was transported to a Dallas area hospital via CareFlite in stable condition, according to an official. Approximately three other patients were transported by East Texas Medical Center ambulances to Dallas area hospitals in stable condition, according to the official.
