Terrell man arrested in connection with Sunday morning shooting
TERRELL, Texas – The Terrell Police Department arrested a Terrell man in connection with an early morning shooting on Sunday, July 27, 2014.

27-year-old Ontarius Cardae Morris was arrested on Monday, July 28, 2014, and charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. Morris was transferred to Kaufman County Jail on Tuesday where he is being held on a $200,000 bond.

Morris allegedly shot twice at another man's vehicle in the area pf Park Street in the early morning hours on Sunday. At least one of the gunshots struck and shattered the vehicle's rear window.

Police say the victim and Morris knew each other and were involved in an encounter several months ago.

The Terrell Police Department stated this shooting incident is unrelated to the shooting incident on July 19, 2014, in the 700 block of Newton Street.

Morris has a prior conviction in Kaufman County for manufacturer of delivery of a controlled substance, penalty group 1, less than one gram in a drug free zone. Morris was sentenced to five years of community supervision and 300 hours of community service.
